Small Ulta Haul

Hey Gorgeous Girlies!
I recently went to the grand opening of the first Ulta near where I live. My Ulta blues will be gone now!
I didn’t get many things, I really just went to look around.

No your eyes are not going crazy! I got Revlon’s Carbonite! My Ulta had a full display! I was super excited. I've worn it already, but didn’t take pictures. Sad smile
I also got a permanents polish from Revlon called No Shrinking Violet. It looks like a really pretty fall shade. I haven’t tried it yet.
I also wanted to try out some essence things. Since it was so cheap, I got three eyeliners!I got the:
  • Black Mania Carbon Black Eyeliner pen.
  • Black Mania Carbon Black Gloss Eye Pencil
  • Metallic Eye pencil in Iron goddess

That’s what I picked up at Ulta!

Review: Maybelline The Falsies Mascara

Hey Gorgeous Girlies,

I recently got the Maybelline Falsies Mascara. I have heard mixed reviews on the mascara but wanted to form an opinion of my own.
My opinion is.....I LOVE IT! :)
This mascara makes my lashes look so long and full. It really lives up to its name.

My camera wouldn't focus on the pictures that I was taking of my lashes. If not, I would have a picture of a before and after of my lashes.

All in all, I really like this mascara. Its affordable and amazing! :)

Quick Rite Aid Couponing Haul

Hey Gorgous Girlies,
As you all know, Im a couponer. Not an extreme one, but I do buy something everyweek from the drugstore.

This week was pretty good at Rite Aid. I got some other things that Im not going to be metioning in this post because they arent fun. :) Ill just show you the beauty things that I picked up.

The John Frieda Hair care products were $5.00 each and you got a $5.00 Up+ Reward when you brought two.
The two that I picked up are the Leave-In Conditioning Spray and the Finishing Creme. I can't wait to try these products.
I used 2 of the $2.00 any John Frieda hair product coupons. This made me pay $6.00 OOP ( Out Of Pocket) and then get back $5.00. This essentaily made each product $.50!

Covergirl products are Buy 1, Get 1 50% off. This isn't normally a good deal but since there is a great coupon, I chose to do this deal.
I brought the blush trio in Purely Plum and The loose powder in translucent Medium.I have already tried one of the blushes in the trio and I really like it!
I use a $8/2 coupon to get both products for only .82 cents!

So, thats my haul for today!

Review: ELF Studio Blush In Candid Coral

Hey Gorgous Girlies,
ELF Studio blushes are like a hidden gem at target. Most people just pass buy the whole ELF display because of its low price. Not us bloggy girls. :D.
These blushes are great! Alot of the shades are comparable to high end blushes. Thats what really encourgaed me to pick Candid Coral up. Im not sure what the exact dupe is but if you know please feel free to comment below to let me know!

Anyways, Candid coral is this gorgous coral shade that has some shimmers in it. Its not a blush that makes you look like a glittter ball though; it has just the right amount of glitter.
It does look a little washed out against my skin tone but is for sure a pigmented blush.
I really want to try more ELF studio blushes soon!

*By the way, ELF is always having some kind of sale or free shipping deal on their site www.eyeslipsface.com. So for a coupon code to purchase something online.*

EOTD: 7/23/11 Walking On Eggshells

Hey Gorgeous Girlies!

Today's look is a shimmer, neutral, light smokey eye. I really am enjoying this look and have been wearing a lot this past week. The main trio that I am using in this look is the Wet N' Wild Walking On Eggshells quad that I purchased at CVS.

The Look:

  1. Apply a primer all over your eye area. This will make your shadows more vibrant and keep them on all day. I'm using Urban Decay's Primer Potion in the Original shade.
  2. First, apply the eyelid color from the WnW trio all over your eyelid. Be sure to blend afterwards.
  3. Now, apply the crease color from the same trio into you crease. Blend this really well to reduce any harsh lines the two colors may have made
  4. Apply your brow bone color from the trio right underneath your brow, very lightly. This will make your eyes look big and will highlight your brow.
  5. Taking Stila's trio in Anya (check out my review here !), take the middle color and apply this into your outer corner/V area. You might have to really build this color to get it as intense as I did in the pictures.
  6. Then, with a brown liner, line your lower lash-line. (Not your water-line)
  7. Curl your lashes and apply a black-brown mascara.
Products Used:
  • Urban Decay Primer Potion in original
  • Wet N' Wild Trio in Walking On Eggshells
  • Stila Trio in Anya
  • Avon Color trend eyeliner in Dark Brown
  • ELF Eyelash Curler
  • Revlon Beyond Natural Defining Mascara in Black-Brown

I hope you guys enjoyed this EOTD/Tutorial!

Review: Stila Trio in Anya

Hey Gorgeous Girlies!

I've always been into neutral eye looks, so a majority of my eyeshadows are neutral. I'm always on the hunt for a new neutral trio/quad to achieve that perfect neutral eye (I haven't succeeded).I recently bought the Stila trio in Anya and a few other Stila items from a discount store around where I live. I was hoping for the shadows to be super pigmented and for-fill my dream of a perfect neutral eye. Let's just say, my hopes were squashed.

Stila's trios run for $20. I honestly would never pay that much money for this trio.

Pros:

  • Compact packaging
  • Colors compliment each other nicely
Cons:
  • Not all colors are equally pigmented
  • Pricey
  • Chalky

The middle shade in the trio has absolutely no color payoff at all. It swatches horribly. To get it to show up on my eyes, I really have to pack the color onto my brush. The other colors are okay. I just find them kinda chalky.

All in all, I really don't like this trio at all. Somtimes I'll just use that horrible middle color in my outer corner to give a bit of dimmension.
Overall Rating- 1.5/5

Rite Aid & Bath and Body Works Haul : 7.22.11

Hey Gorgeous Girlies!

*** WARNING! LONG POST AHEAD!***

Today I did a great coupining trip at Rite Aid and then decided to stop at Bath and Body Works to treat myself to something.
You guys don't know this, but I will NOT EVER pay full price for a beauty product from the drugstore. Yes, that does mean... *drum roll please*  I'm a couponer! Even though I am a younger couponer and none of my friends share my love, I don't mind. Saving money is nothing to be embarrassed about. I love the feeling I get from saving money! Who doesn't?
I've been planing this particular trip to Rite Aid all week.

At Rite Aid, I picked up:

  • Rembrandt Intense Stain Toothpaste
  • Revlon Just Bitten Lipstain in Victorian
  • Excedrin Extra Strength Aspirin
  • Revlon Crazy Shine Nail Buffer

Without coupons or sales, I would have paid $26.46 w/o tax.
With coupons and sales, I paid $5.46 w/o tax!
I saved $21! I am so proud of myself! (:

How I did it:

Rembrandt Toothpaste was on sale for $4.99 from $8.49.
  • I used an Rite Aid Adperk coupon for $2 off and a manufacturer coupon for $2 off. This made the toothpaste only 99 cents!
Revlon Just Bitten Lipstain was 40% off making it $5.39 from $8.99 (all cosmetics and tools from Revlon were too).
  • I used a Rite Aid Adperk coupon for $2 off and a manufacturer coupon for $1 off. This made the stain $2.39!
Excedrin Extra Strength (24 ct.) was on sale for $1.99 from $5.49.
  • I used a $1 off manufacturer coupon. This made the aspirin 99 cents!
Revlon Crazy Shine Nail Buffer was 40% making it $2.09 from $3.49 (all cosmetics and tools from Revlon were too).
  • I used a $1 off manufacturer coupon. This made the the buffer $1.09.

It's that easy! Using coupons and matching them up with sales is not that hard. I will do another post all about the basics of couponing.

At Bath & Body Works, I picked up:
  • Caribbean Escape Pocket Bac
  • Fresh Market Apple Pocket Bac
  • Vanilla Berry Sorbet Pocket Bac
  • Lunch Box Marshmellow Treat Pocket Bac
  • Virgo Vanilla Pocket Bac
  • Teal Glitter Holder For Pocket Bacs

If you can't already tell, I love the hand sanitizer from B&BW!
Since they are always 5 for $5, I try and pick some up whenever I can.
I ended up spending $5.50 w/o tax at B&BW.

So all in all, I think I did pretty well today. Sorry for the lack of posts latley. I have been super busy, but promise to get back into things starting now.

Review: NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils

Hey Gorgeous Girlies!

Just recently a beauty supply store opened up by my grandmothers house. And this store sells NYX! This is only store in my area that sells NYX and its still pretty far away. ): But anyways, the first time I walked into the store I had to pick something up from NYX. So since I have heard so much rave on these products, I decided to pick up a NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil. I bought the shade Strawberry Milk.

NYX Jumbo Pencils are just cream eyeshadow in a stick! (: They have a wide range of colors which makes them fun to collect.
Strawberry Milk is the only one that I own and it is a light pink shade.

Pros:

  • Very affordable
  • Portable
  • Pigmented
  • Creamy
  • Easy to use
  • Wide range of colors
Cons:
  • Creases it not set with a powder eye shadow
  • Is not true to color

I like this product very much. The only I don't like is that on my skin tone the pink comes up almost silvery. It barely has a pink tine to it. Maybe its just my skin-tone, buts its really bothering. Another con is that this creases really bad. I need to first use a primer, then the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil, and then my powder shadow to keep the colors from creasing.

All in all, I think the Jumbo Eye Pencils from NYX are a good idea, maybe just not for me. But I am going to try out Milk because I can always use a white base and everyone always raves about the shade Milk.
Overall Rating- 3/5

EOTD: 7/11/11 Purple Haze

Hey Gorgeous Girlies!

Today I did a really pretty, light purple look on my eyes. I was playing around with a quad that I haven't used in a while and like the way my look came out! I also am really into purple eye looks lately. The quad that is featured in this look in Avon's True Color Eyeshadow Quad in the Purple Haze.

The Look:

  1. Apply a primer all over your eye area. This will make your shadows more vibrant and keep them on all day. Im using Urban Decay's Primer Potion in the Original shade.
  2. (This step is optional) I applied a white base over my eyes since the shades in the quad are light and need a little boost. I used Revlon's Illuminance Cream Eyeshadows in Black Magic and used the white shade.
  3. First, apply the second shade in the quad (a pastel lavender shade) all over your lid. This gives a nice wash of color.
  4. Now, apply the first shade in the quad (an ultra light pastel lavender) into your inner corner. This will make your eyes pop and make you look more awake.
  5. Using the darker purple shade, apply it to your outer corner and lightly into your crease. This is soft and gradual but still defines the eye.
  6. Taking a violet purple eyeliner, lightly line your lower lash line. Do not apply to much of this because it will make you look like you have really bad under eye circles.
  7. Using your favorite black liner, line your upper lash line with a thin line.
  8. Apply one coat of your favorite mascara.
Products Used:
  • Urban Decay Primer Potion in Original
  • Revlon  Illuminance Cream Shadow in Black Magic
  • Avon True Color Eyeshadow Quad in Purple Haze
  • Kleancolor Eye liner in Violet
  • Jordana Fabuliner in Black
  • Rimmel London Sexy Curves Mascara in Extreme Black

Tell me what you think about this look. The colors may seem a little washed out and not to clear because I'm still working on getting my lighting and camera in the right settings.
Hope you enjoyed this post!

Review: Revlon ColorStay Mineral Finishing Powder

Hey Gorgeous Girlies!

I recently picked up the Revlon ColorStay Mineral Finishing Powder at CVS when it was on the 75% clearance.   Many people have talked about it and I wanted to try it for my self. I bought the shade Sunkiss. Sunkiss a gorgeous bronze color. There are light champagne and dark brown veins in it but its main shade is a bronze. Its contains alot of shimmer so my girls who are all about matte, this is not the powder for you.I have heard that this is a dupe for a MAC Mineralze Skinfinish.

I have mixed emotions on this product.

Pros:

  • Packaging is sturdy.
  • Color pay off/pigmentation is great.
  • Blends well
Cons:
  • Expensive if not on sale.
  • The shimmers can look to shimmery or greasy at times.
  • Does not last long even with the "ColorStay" name.

This product is over all good but I wouldn't purchase it again.
Overall Rating: 4/5
